FEATURING; Maggie McCutchan
Those of you who know me well have probably been wondering when I would do a Marie Antionette concept. Well here it is. I managed to produce a summer-themed, bikini-wearing, macaroon-endorsing, beer-drinking, modern spin on my girl Marie Antionette.Yes, this ended in a cake fight and, yes, we both had stomach aches.
Those of you who know Maggie well, know she's an old soul. Friends fondly refer to her as the "creature of comfort". This is a woman who loves a casual beer at the end of the day, on her front porch, in her slippers, watching the neighborhood wind down.
I’ve known this chick a long time. I'm talking wayyyyy back to Barney days. Maggie and I grew up next door to each other. I remember going over to her house after school and being delightfully confounded by her preference for the 5 o'clock news over our regularly scheduled programs on Nickelodeon. But don't let her geriatric preferences deceive you--Maggie is a goofball. When I picture her in my head, all I can see (and hear) is that signature belly laugh: leaned back, clutching her stomach and crippled from laughter. Along with being my first locker partner ever, Maggie was one of my original partners in crime. I won't go into all the details of the shenanigans we got into but, suffice it to say, I got sent home for bad behavior on several occasions (sorry John and Denise!!). All these years later, this weirdo still gets me laughing until tears.
These delicious little delights are from our friendly neighbors at Happy Cakes- a neighborhood gourmet bakery featuring artisan desserts.
